This site contains demonstrations and imagery from class lectures and my recently published book Figure Drawing: Design and Invention. In many ways, I consider this site to be an extension and supplement to the book, in that I am able to constantly keep updating the blog section with new drawings, pages, examples, etc. I will also use this site to update ongoing lectures/workshops or other engagements.
Originally published in August of 2009, this book gives a process-based approach to learning to draw the figure. The book has received much praise, and is used as a reference text by schools and animation/game art companies alike. More info
I will be teaching a workshop with Andrew Cawrse at AnatomyTools.com on Human Anatomy. This workshop is geared towards beginning and intermediate level artists. You will learn to draw the female human form in 2D, and then apply that knowledge to 3D sculpting.
